Health Services
A full time nurse is available during school hours to care for children who become ill, assist with first aid as needed and administer medication according to doctor's orders. The school nurse also performs health screenings and maintains student health records, while additionally offering health-related instruction.
Transportation
Bussing is currently provided for students living in Lakewood, Brick, Jackson, Howell, Toms River, and Manchester; through those individual districts.
Lunch Program
Children are able to purchase a nutritious lunch and healthy snacks and drinks, daily in our cafeteria.
Counseling
Services are provided by a counseling psychologist. This specialized program provides the administration and faculty with a resource to evaluate and assist children who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social difficulties.
Remediation
An Independent Child Study team evaluates and develops a service plan for those children who are in need of supplemental and compensatory education. This service is provided both in-house and through Catapult Learning. Speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy are also available. These services are funded through state and federal programs.
Extended Day Program
A supervised activity program is available for students every day from dismissal until 6:00 P.M. HFS also provides morning supervision services through our "Breakfast Club". This no cost student supervision is provided to all families in need from 6:45 A.M. until 7:45 A.M. at which time students will be sent to their classes for the start of the school day.
